How I glaze my mugs using fine tip applicator bott How I glaze my mugs using fine tip applicator bottles!

This mug was carved while still leather hard, using my original illustration of my cat chilling in the wild catnip. After the mug is bisque fired I go in with my squeezy bottles and carefully glaze each section. It takes a heck of a long time, but I absolutely love the results!

This was cut down from over an hour of footage, and most clips are at 20x speed, but you get the idea!

Let me know if you have any questions about the process! Thanks for watching. 🐈‍⬛

Here are some more fresh mug shop restocks! I'm su Here are some more fresh mug shop restocks! I'm super happy with the cat design, and the crabby too. I'll definitely have to make one or two of my dogs into a mug as well!

A bit about the process: Each mug has been carved by hand using an original illustration while the clay is still leather hard. After bisque firing I inlay black underglaze into the carved lines and then carefully apply glossy cone 6 glazes to the raised areas using a needle tipped applicator bottle. It's a long and tedious process but I love the texture and flow that the cone 6 glaze give to the design. Extra care needs to be given to not over flow the focal point spaces, but I also love the natural movement and drips that can occur when glazes do their thing in the kiln. It feels like uncovering glittering treasure every time I open up a new batch!

I have a glazing process video coming soon!

✨Shop update tomorrow✨, Friday June 12, around noo ✨Shop update tomorrow✨, Friday June 12, around noonish hopefully! There will be a couple sgraffito raven mugs, and humpback whale mugs and bowls. I also have some ravens and wolves in the colourful glaze, along with a few new designs including redwing black birds, peonies and starfish! Oh, and a mermaid 🧞

Here's a quick shot at one of the batches of work I brought to Butchart Gardens. I rarely get to see this much work in one place, I think it was only a 1/3 of it overall!
