Carved Vase Porcelain – Redwing Blackbird in the Cattails

Handmade porcelain vase with an original hand carved illustration of a redwing blackbird calling out amongst the cattails. Background is carved, unglazed porcelain that has been sanded to a smooth finish.

Vases are wheel-thrown and carved by hand, creating a gently textured surface that feels comfortable and grounding to hold. Each carved section is carefully hand-glazed with many individual glaze colours, applied one by one to build a layered, vibrant surface. The detailed glazing process makes every piece completely unique, with subtle variations in colour and pattern that highlight the handmade nature of the piece.
